Fees
Fees are always determined by the number of estimated hours spent on a project. My rate is the same whether I am designing marketing materials, writing a narrative, or developing a budget. This hopefully gives your nonprofit an incentive to utilize the full breadth of services available, in whatever mix makes the most sense for you.
I will gladly schedule a free consultation with you to talk about what your needs are and do an initial assessment of how I can help you meet those needs. After that, I will deliver a written bid with the estimated number of hours and the final cost. Once an agreement is reached on this contract, 25% is due upon the signing of the contract, 25% at the midpoint, and 50% upon successful completion.
*note*Some nonprofits ask for grantwriters who will write grants to cover their own fees. This is specifically forbidden by the National Association for Fundraising Professionals and the American Association of Grants Professionals. There are several reasons for this, including the fact that no legitimate grantor will accept a budget that includes a grantwriter fee for services. For these reasons, I will not perform grant services based on this pay scheme. I am, however, sensitive to the fact that cash is tight at nonprofits. My initial consultation and bid is always free, and from there I will work with your organization to find a manageable and ethical way to arrange for payment of services.
